Adding rear cam with nav

Just got a 2500HD with factory nav and want to add rear camera...when you shift into reverse the screen goes black and says ck surroundings across top...like wanting to see camera input...can I just add camera and wire right in to nav ? thanks Rob

sounds like you can , mine does the same and I have no camera yet. Take a look at the camera-source on the forum they are a sponser here
