Hood question

This is probably a dumb question, but is there any way to put a NNBS GMC HD hood on my NNBS SIlverado? (reason i ask is because i found a good deal on one locally)

What year are you talking about? I know on an 11 you can put a 2500 hood on an 1500 but not a 1500 on a 2500. I wanted a 1500 hood for my hd but it would not fit.

both the same year, more worried about a GMC to a Chevy and what not.

The leading edges of the hoods are different . My GMC has a chrome trim piece attached that forms the top section of the grille surround when hood is closed.

I thought I read here that you would need to replace the grill to swap hoods...

so could you swap headlights, grille, and the hood would work?

You can swap just the HD hood to a 1500, but the hood will stick out about 0.5" farther than the grille and look weird

 

so could you swap headlights, grille, and the hood would work?

 

 

Different mounting points for the grille, and to make the grille and headlights work, you'd need a Sierra bumper too (also different mounting points/brackets). Would take fab work to make that conversion...I'm sure it has been done by somewhere in RGV however.

No the chevy HD hood will stick out farther than the 1500 grille on a chevy 1500, and same goes for sierra. Not sure if they can be interchanged...I think the lines would be off.
