04 Sierra SLE swapped gauge cluster w/same year & model. now steer

My 04 SLE has the steering wheel buttons that tell me my trip, mpg, miles to empty, etc. I swapped the gauge cluster out because i had 4 bad stepper motors. I used one from the same year and model, and now none of the lower buttons work. My radio controls work fine. Is there anything i can do? Everything in the cluster is working great except for this. Thanks in advance

Quite possibly. Is there a fix for it, or should i start looking for another cluster?

The dealer might be willing to program it, but if you swapped clusters without some official documentation of mileage, they might see that as a red flag and say no. Otherwise, I'd say try to find a truck with the programming or send yours for a rebuild, there are guys on ebay who do it quickly.

You need and should have it programmed as stated above. If for other reason than mileage

Just have it programed. Its like $100.

Shouldn't be any programming other than the mileage.

When I swapped my cluster for a Escalade cluster with trans temp, the only thing that was programmed was my mileage and everything worked. I would check the wiring at the back of the cluster before anything.

Escalade will obviously have the DIC programming being a too tier model. If this cluster came from a lower optioned pickup, it may not.
