Any Regrets after a 3" body lift install?

gettin ready to install a 3" pa body lift on the HD and was curious if anyone had any regrets..... thanks in advance...

I don't have any regets doing it.

Many people have a B/L and various suspension lifts with no problems.  I think all of the manufactures recommend not using the two together.  I guess to cover the behinds.

Wouldn't the 3"body lift look odd on the HD?  I think it would look like the whole truck was sitting off the frame?  Not trying to stir any controversy but I would think the body is high enough and I'd wait and raise the suspension, when funds were available.  Just my $.02.............Mike

Were you asking if anyone with an HD had regrets?

The regret part was the 3" lift in general.  i was lookin if there was a downside (or any regrets) of a body lift after someone has put it on a HD.

As for the frame thing,  I also thought that huge frame might look overwelhming also but i plan to put on a set of running boards or nerf bars to cover them up. Thanks for all the input! :thumb:

No regrets whatsoever. The N-fab side step nerf bars cover the frame great. They also stay snug up w/ the body.  As far as body and suspension, recently manufacturer's have started to NOT recommend it. On the 4 K-5 Blazers I've had, 3 have have body and suspension. 4", 6", 8" all w/ 3 inch body. On my 2002 2500HD CC 4x4 I only added the 3 inch lift to help clear 305/70's. Looks great and NO REGRETS. Doubt I'll put a suspension lift though.

Don't laugh, its a little weak. I'm still trying to figure it all out. And I started 2 days ago.

Only the HD and firebird are working. All the other truck projects aren't in yet. So check back if you're interested in any of those.

Thanks for the pics Knuts.  truck looks TUFF!  Where did you get those n-fab bars?  Thanks

Wife got them for me for Christmas.  :)

at 4wheel Parts. She had a buddy of mine go haggle with them a bit on the price. Retail is high!$475-550 for CrewCab.

Here's there website.(And they have a huge HD on the page)

http://www.n-fab.com/

Email them and the guy who replys can give you all info. And RETAIL pricing. I later called the number and the same guy I emailed answered and gave me all the info to know these were the ones to get. He's real nice, but I forgot his name...

Unfortunately, they do not direct sell to public. But he gave me  the dealers name 4wheel parts (or maybe another dealer nearer to you) and you know what retail is so don't pay that much!! I didn't ask my wife exact price she paid but she said it was a lot less than the $470 or so retail. Remeber mine is (4 step Crew Cab). They also would've painted to match for $550, RETAIL.

I think they are the best looking and best working steps I've had and I've had Smittybilt, etc...

Good luck.

Knuts... Your truck looks great.  The questions I have for you are how does it look from the rear with the hitch?  Is there a BIG gap from the bumper to the hitch?  Also, did you notice any difference in handling?

Of course the center of gravity is a little higher now. Maybe in a jeep (or similar small wheelbase vehicle) it would ride different. Seems to ride the exact same. Of course again the suspension didn't change (torsion bars stock position too) so just as smooth as stock. I'm sure the tires change the feel a little maybe, but hardly noticeable. Everyone who rides in it is very surprised at how smooth it rides down the highway. (I wish that jacka$$ from discount tire would take a ride and I would tell him where to put the $400 I saved!) <previous post on how the guy told me these tires were a POS and to buy his BFG's for $400 more> I've had BFG's too and they are just as good as these ProComps.

Yes, there is the 3" gap between the round tube for the hitch and the bottom of the bumper. It has the bracket right above the reciever, but still has the gap on the sides of the hitch.  Better than a gap between the bumper and the tailgate (like all my older blazers. I can live with it and I know some people have made mods to fix this an dlook better, so sometime I'll worry about it.

I have a  2" B/L on my 1500 and my only regret is that I didn't get a 3".

jr.parrish,  Where did you find a 2" PA body lift for a 99-02?  Their website does not show it and ive been hunting for a 2" for a long time so i could install the hd grille on my 1500.
