Third brake light black out

Is there any covers out there that could "smoke" or "black out" the third brake light on my 2009 Silverado? All the covers I find are cheap chrome ricer crap. Thanks.

Why would you want to black out a light that's intended as a safety feature? Not only is it wrong, but it's probably illegal.

Probably illegal but if you really want it done right, have it sprayed and then clearcoated. Not gonna lie, I had all the rear lights on my TBSS tinted. Looked badass but it was a stupid thing to do, Won't be doing it on my Silverado.

I agree 100%. There is no probably involved it is illegal as it cuts down on the light transmission alot. No worrys though if he gets rear ended it will be easy to figure out whos fault it is.

Yeah, don't do a complete black out, smoke them.instead. and if you think the visibility is low with smoke, get some recon led brake lights.

I would make the third light as Brite as possible to get the drivers behind you not to tailgate.

Put in some nice Bright LED and see how they follow behind you.

This just gave me an IDEA!!! and a new Backup LIght .

yes i went to our local advanced auto parts store and bought nightshade spray tint....tinted the third one dark shines right through no problem...i bought led third brake lights and all of them leaked ...stock one does not...looks great and still shines thru.

I replaced my 3rd brake light with a aftermarket unit that is brighter than the stock, and gives the vehicle a custom look.

Here is one example for your vehicle:
