Floor Mats for a Work Truck with floor mounted 4x4 shifter

I am interested in floor mats for my new 2013 GMC Sierra WT 4x4, regular cab. I bought a pair of Husky WeatherBeater floor mats from the local dealer. They are nice and fit great, but the nibs on the back cause the mats to slide around on my worktruck floor. They probably work great on carpet.

I went to the WeatherTech website and looked at the Floorliner DigitalFit floor mats. Nothing on the website to tell me if these mats have the nibs on the back or not. Does anyone know? Also, there is a "fit note" that indicates these mats do not fit regular cab trucks with the floor mounted 4x4 shift lever (which mine has). I do not have a retention hook in the floor either, and I am not sure that I want to put on through the WT floor.

Perhaps I will just go with some rubber mats. Any other flor mat suggestions?

Thanks - Doug

My WeatherTech ones in my LT's slide around a little too. I don't think it has anything to do with the type of floor, it's the mats themselves.

They DO NOT have ribs on the back, they are smoth.

There is a soft rubber roofing membrane we use in the truck floors. It is so nice to put down and trim around the areas need be.

It is used in flat roofs, where they put river rock on top top keep it down. If you happen to see the membrane in a 10ft roll ask for a piece at a roofing only supply company.

It is like the best thing for covering the entire area, like installing a carpet.

Thanks. It is probably related to the material. I'll ask to try them in the truck first before buying.

I have a 2010 WT with the vinyl floor and was having the same problem. Without mats, any water from your boots runs right down into the door sill molding and after a while you will get a "musty" smell in the truck as you start growing mildew. I went to home depot and bought two rubber welcome mat style door mats. They are grooved, retain water and work well. I had to trim them to fit and the fit is not exact, but they work well for winter and cost me less than $20.00 for both. I may keep them or eventually upgrade to carpet and new mats in the summer.

Could you cover the bottom of your husky liners with some sort of non-skid material, so they don't slide around? Or, maybe you could put a small bathroom rug (with the rubber bottom, and thick carpet on top) down first, then put the husky liner on top of that. Those little 'nibs' grip carpet very well, and husky is the only brand I know of that has a notch to cut out for a floor shifter.
