Remote start with AUO option

My local dealer says that there absolutely, positively no way a remote start can be added to my truck with the AUO option. I gave him the GM part number that I found from researching various web sites. The part number is 17802087. It is listed for trucks that have the AUO option. Can anyone tell me if they have had this kit installed and if so what comes in the kit ? My dealer won't even take the time to look up his own part number to see if I'm correct. As far as he is concerned they are right and nobody knows more than them.

That part number says you need the AUO option,,,,,,,

What dealer would know more than I just read on the internet. You are correct IMO

Good Luck and take it to another Dealer.

Go to a different dealer, give them your VIN, and ask them to sell you a factory remote start. Does not need to a dealer of the same brand, as long as it is a GM dealer. In other words, if you have a GMC, you can go to a Chev dealer and get the remote start installed. I think you will have to have it dealer installed as they need to get GM Techline to issue new bin for BCM.

I do not have any of these options on my truck so the 17802087 should be able to be installed ,correct? What bothers me ,like I said is the fact that nobody at my local dealer is willing to get off their butts and look up this number and then explain to me why it can't be installed when it appears to me that it can. This is one reason we all use these forums is because there are more of us that want to help others than the very people who are supposed to help us at our dealerships.

You are going to have to deal with a dealer to get it installed. So the first thing you are going to have do is find a dealer that is willing to work with you. And I would start by going to the service department. Tell them what you want to do. And let them order the parts and have them deal with the parts dept.
