Dominator 2 help - Factory mount in the way of install

Thought i seen the answer somewhere on here but just cant find it.. I went to install my Go Rhino Dominator 2's yesterday. Mounted the brackets UNDER the pinch mold because of the factory welded nut for the GM side steps. Well after getting the drivers side on, it looked too low and the brackets were exposed. It just didn't look right.. So I went to check the direction sheet again to see if i Fd up somewhere. They show the bracket sitting on top of the pinch mold, then bolted up. I cant do that because of this nut.. In the back of my mind i knew it had to be done that way but thought it wouldn't make that much of a difference.. needless to say I wasnt too happy I had to take it off.

 

I know i have to either drill out or grind off that mount. Has anyone ran into this problem? Any suggestions? Of course I want to make this as painless as possible.

I drilled those welded on nuts out when installing my N Fabs, not sure if the Go Rhinos mount up the same way though.

Yep, drilled them out over the weekend. Easier than I thought it would be. The bit I had was just a hair too small to get the whole weld but a few whacks with a hammer popped it right off.

 

Same basic idea except the side step bar is separate from the bracket.
