First year for TPMS sensors?

I have a 06 Tahoe with TPMS. I just swapped an older set of 17" Tahoe wheels yesterday and realized they probably don't have TPMS sensors in them. Does anyone know which year Chevy started putting TPMS on the Tahoes? Thanks.

IDK but my wife's 05 Yukon XL has them.

Thanks. Didn't realize the '05 had them. Did the '05 show individual pressure for each tire?

Suburban and Tahoe started using them in 2004 and they read each tire individually.

Hmmm, these might have them then. I think they came off an '03 or '04 Tahoe. Should they sync up if I go through the manual reset procedure (assuming they have them)?

Look at the valve stems. If they're the black rubber, regular looking type then they don't have TPMS. If they are rigid metal, they do. GM didn't use the regular looking stems with TPMS back then. If you have them and they are good, you should be able to reset them.

Hey thanks, I'll check tonight. Just going off memory from when I put air in them I think they are the rigid metal type. We shall see...thanks again.

Hey they were metal stems and the TPMS sync'd right up! I'm stoked, thanks for all the help!
