06 Silverado - P0455 Code with Revised Vent Valve

I recently had the Tighten Fuel Cap warning come up a few times followed by a Check Engine Light. A scan shows P0455. Search of forums shows the EVAP vent valve to be a common problem. However, my vent valve was replaced a couple of years ago with the new design that includes the remote filter box. Has anyone had one of the new designs fail? The gasket on the gas cap does not show any obvious issues. Can anyone provide recommendations for correcting this issue?

did the canister get replaced at the same time ?

I don't believe so.

if you drive in dusty conditions the canister can fill up and cause the code again after the vent valve replacment
