Prius beats my 2013 6.2 Silverado

It wouldn't touch 150, and in the slim chance it would, it would take miles and miles of road.

The car in my sig is only capable of 160ish, but is then limited by drag. It would take a lot more than stock 6.2 to make a 5,000 lb vehicle shaped like a refrigerator on wheels to hit 150 in the real world.

agreed....truck was still pulling at 190km/h but there is no way it would hit 150mph. plus, they are trucks probably not smart driving that fast!!! lol!

Roger that, but that doesn't even remotely translate into what it would do in the real world.

Just wondering. I know my truck can hit 151 stationary. About 130 moving but I feel very uncomfortable over 115

You guys all make me feel slow. My limiter on both my trucks is 258 mph.... or the limits of EFILive on the LS1B controller. Never tried the 04 stockish.... the 05 can do maybe 125 mph and that's about it. My tools and crap that weigh it down to the 7500-8000 lb mark just kill it's landspeed capability when it runs out of rpm in third and shifts into overdrive. Empty would be different but it's never empty. My old SRT8 shut down around the 180 mph mark... and that was just aerodynamics by that point, not a limiter in the pcm.

Trucks weight, size and crappy tires, and garbage driveshafts are not meant for speed. Doesn't mean people don't try though.

SRT8......180? Hmmmm........

Old thread lol. Yeah 180... stock any magazine got between 170-173 mph... raise the limiter and change tire size with a little of power. My CTS V can do over 190 mph.... mind blowing lol.

I share your skepticism. I'd like to see a car with crappy aero get moving that quick.

Is this a half ton truck you're talking about? If so there's no way you're pushing 8000 with tools lol. Our work truck comes in at 9600 and it's a 1 ton Dodge, diesel, dually, balebed with tools, bumper, chains, etc. FWIW, my 2006 is around 5400.

Research is your friend. Its not difficult to find out the stock numbers like them or not.

Truck isn't a half ton.... its a 1500 HD. Being this is a GM site I don't need to explain what that is do I? Its right about 6000 empty.

I'm glad you know how much weight I haul in my work truck and I don't lol. My slide out tool box is over 400 lbs empty.... What I haul for tools adds up quickly.

Well if it isn't a half ton I can understand... Just throw a couple things in, before you know it you've got a tons worth of stuff piled on lol. Or in our case grab a couple bales, oops pushing 14k!! Haha

I wouldn't feel comfortable going that fast in that car though... Needs good tires and aero. :ughdance:

Going that fast is scary. I really have no need for it. I have no suitable places locally to even bother. Frost and asphalt is a mess.
