Prius beats my 2013 6.2 Silverado

I have a 2013 6.2 Silverado 1500 extended cab and a 2012 Prius. The Prius will run faster than my truck! The truck definitely accelerates faster but quits at 98 mph where as the Prius just keeps on going past 106 and still climbing. I know the truck is computer limited but gee! My advice is don't try to race a Prius on the highway!

I think our tires are 112 mph limited may be the reason. I know for sure the truck would go faster as it's pulling good when it reaches 98 mph.

 

Oh and the Prius is my wife's, not mine for sure!

A lady in a Prius was enraged that my truck was idling in a parking lot few weeks ago ahah. Told me to shut it off, my kid was in the truck and it was -15 outside. I didn't even say anything I rolled the window up and kicked high idle on LOLOLOLOL. Nothing like the sound of a twin turbo dmax with 5" straight pipe on high idle especially next to a pissed off Prius owner AHAHAHA it's moments like that sometimes I wished I had a good smoke tune LOL...

I was driving to los Angeles and I live in a valley so I had to go up some mountains. I was in 3rd and the truck kicked down to 2nd at 65 mph with the crosa sport. Prius owner to the right of me flipped me off and I left it in second for a little while just to piss this guy off

Perfect that's a good one ahah, my race tune will cough a little black smoke. It smokes pretty heavy until the turbo lights up under WOT (it cleans right up once boost is built tho), but if you lug it you can smoke the shit out of people if you want. I had this dude cut me off big time last year in a convertible mustang. I got back in front and smoked the living shit out of him and his wife they looked pissed ahah. Then he tried to race me and I smoked his pony pretty bad and smoke screened him again ahah. Then he was in behind me at the next set of lights writing down my license plate number I let him pass me have him a nice big friendly smile ahaha

To run 151 assuming you have the same gear and tire size as mine you would be in 5th gear and turning 4800 rpm. I have a 3.42 and a 30.87" diameter tire is in my file.

I used to do that in the diesel excursion we had when I was 16. Well I did it to people at stop lights with Windows down and playing music so loud I couldn't hear my stereo

I just noticed yours is a four speed so looks like you could be in 3rd gear around 5600 rpm.

31.91 is the correct calculated diameter but not what GM puts in your ECM. Use 30.87 for calculations. Apparently they allow for tire deflection.

GM didnt do my ECM the tuner did. Factory when I had the 4.8 my truck came with 235/75R16's

take the limiter off.. I have hit 143 in my 2001 silverado 5.3 bone stock except for superchips tune and no muffler

I hate it when people drive around smoking everyone. But when I drive the cummins with tow mirs I make it nasty for people riding my ass.

 

Going up mountains in Colorado I made beautiful music all the way up the passes, passing Prii and Hondas. Then leave it in 3rd and coast all they way down. T/H is definitely your friend in the mountains so it'll hold the gear all the way.
