Aux switch locations

I'm trying to figure out where to mount 3 switches in my truck.

One will be for aux lights up front

One will be for compressors for horns..

And the last I havent decided..

Heres some pics on my interior.

And this is the best idea that i could come up with if i make a flat round backer plate inside...

And my thought...

To mount 3 side by side on a flat plate that i cut round to fit inside. The switches would sit almost flush.

Anyone have any other ideas? This cupholder was a spare i bought and i was just using it in the truck to hold phone or whatever. Suggestions please

If you have an overhead console maybe you could mount them there. If I ever get lights, I'm installing a ghetto kick switch for them, it's much easier to use them that way, almost out of sight and pretty unique.

Unless you do the kick switch, make sure you have some of these. All the cool coal rollers have em.

Nah.. lol, the reason i bought these daystar rocker switches was they are factory looking and dont stick out like those would. Im trying to go for a clean look. Not sure how possible that will be if i mount my valve inside this truck tho..

All I know is that you must get REALLY thirsty because you have 4 cup holders in the center. :P

I'd ditch an entire set of cup holders and maybe see if you can buy a console/bin for the space and use that. Or make your own if you have the resources.

It would be definetly worth while for you to check out a "Billet Button". I installed one for my WD-TV set up in my 2012 slt. They are a flush mount buttom more or less and even come with a led light that gives them a Halo if you choose. Little more expensive than a regular looking button but in my eyes if your going to spend as much on a new truck as most people do you may as well not cheap out on the little things.

Not sure I like the cup holder idea unless you us both cup holders. Just using one looks crowded and lop sided.

3 switches on the left side of the navigation woukd be the easyest to use. Me I would bend up some metal and make them fit beteewn the dash and the console. By making something out of sheet metal u will only need 2 or 3 small holes into the truck and not 3 big ones. I do kinda think your switch are kinda big looking. I normally use small round rocker switches from radio shack with the led bulit in.

Also autozone used to carry 4 switchs that were made by apc or some other company that was super thin and had a box of relays u mounted some were outta the way.

These are sweet! Look great IMO.

I bought the extra cup holder off a member on here to keep as a spare if mine got crappy. But it fit in there also. So I kept it mainly to hold my phone.Works great. I'm gonna try and see how that knee panel comes off. I tested today getting in and I'm a good 4-6" away from kneeing it.

Knee panel isn't bad. Two phillips head screws and a 10mm bolt, then just pull on it pretty good, and it'll come off. Just had mine off, and the clips make it feel like it's going to break, but it shouldn't.

Don't know if you need to have them literally at fingertip reach at all times, but if you want them to be damn near invisible and still be reachable, you may consider what I did with the flat rocker switch that turns on my WDTV box - it's mounted on the top surface of the removable panel that sits at the forward edge on the left side of the center console. This spot is truly invisible when you're sitting in the seat - the only reason you can see it in the photo is because I took it from level with the top of the console (sorry for the poor picture quality):
