It wasnt in my truck.  Me and my mom were at a stop light waiting to turn left and hear a horn i go to look in the side mirror (passenger) and BOOM.  Got rearended.  Pushed about 10 ft.  Hit hard.  My mom got out to look not bad.  Then I call 911. In the meantime (5 min later) guy decides to leave.  Almost hit my mom.  Got half his plate.  Another motorist chased him and go the plate #.  It was a ford escort.

Luckily the bumper has a dent and the license plate bulb cover got knocked out.  It could have been much worse

yea they got his plate #.  It came up as unregistered for 2001-2003.

We have a # to call to see if they caught the guy.  If not we are gonna go sit on the road by where it happened (maybe he was coming home from work) and call the cops.

This S.O.B. is not gonna get away with it.

You know, almost the same thing happened to a friend of mine.  Except this guy ran a red light and totalled his car, then sped away.  They only got a part of the license #.  Police don't seem to get too involved with this stuff so I don't think my friend ever got anything out of it.  Except his totalled rig.

Glad you're ok.  I was having this discussion the other day that no one takes accountability for their actions anymore.  I chased a guy down for about 4 days after he got cut off and hit a parking meter in town.  Now the accident wasn't his fault, but being that he was the driver who struck the meter, he is required to make notification to the property owner(city) or the police within 24hrs.  Well I called and left voice mail and stopped at the house(wife/gf was a beeotch), stopped at the house again, and the business.  Well our friend happened to have outstanding parking tickets on his truck...some of which were from me for parking all over the place by the new bar he is building(surprise there).  Well I pulled behind his Ranger and 2 construction monkeys come out and ask if there's a problem, I say something along the lines of "Not unless this is your truck".  Well the owner comes out and starts arguing with me about towing it and I tell him it's too late to argue and it's getting towed.  So he keeps asking if I'm towing it because he blew me off about the accident and I just reply that we tow over 3 outstanding parking tickets.  Oh well, I was too nice and didn't write him for hitskip...figured towing the truck was enough of a message.

Funny thing was not long before this happened i pumped the lumbar up all the way and think that helped my back a little.

Glad to hear your both ok. Hopefully you will get the guy.

When I was little we were driving home from my grandmothers and a guy ran a stop sign and almost hit us. Well that was all it took for my dad, (back then a Pa State Police Officer) didn't take it lightly and pulled the guy over all the while we were in the car. Needless to say the individual that ran the sign wasn't to happy but then it could have been worse. I never seen my dad so madd before in my life. That was over 27 years ago. Wow does time fly by.

As for being a son of a police officer, my life was ok. Only problem I had was everyone in the town, (pop 5k) knew me. I tried to skip school one day out of my life and got home to have him ask me where I went. Just my luck I drove past his Captains house.  No grounding but was threatened with taking my car away if I did it again.

what i dont understand is he stayed for like 5 mins then decides to leave.  He almost took off her door and hit her (she jumped out when he started to leave).  he even turned on a red.  Luckily a guy followed him.  If they dont catch him I will (dont worry i wont be confronting him just turning him in).

Ive only been in one other accident (semi in front of us rolled back at a stop light).  Its freaky.

My brother was also in the blazer (back seat).

I told my mom the only good that comes out of this is her blazer will get washed when it goes in for body work   (see a bad sitution can turn good)

    • I just brought home a 2020 GMC 1500 Denali.  She has 53K miles on her and I want to change out the fluids over the next few weeks.  I see the diff covers don't have drain plugs.  Any suggestions where I can pick up front and rear diff covers with drain plugs?   Thanks,   Bob
    • Well, the dealership got the compressor and installed it. Air at the vents seems nice and cold as it should be. The service manager said the repair has a two year warranty and unlimited mileage. Hopefully I don't have to use it. The dealership i went to was one where I bought my 2014 half ton silverado. In 10 years and 168k miles on the truck anything I needed done and two small recalls they were always very good to me. Not a huge dealer either. I think they treat people well because they want you to come back. I have dealt with a different dealer that was too big to care about an individual. Just my two cents.
    • Hi All, I operate my 2021 3500 SLT most of the time with the tailgate off and in a crate because I have a slide-in camper. However, at least once a year, I take the camper off and put the tailgate back on. Recently I installed the tailgate, but had a hard time getting the connector bail to swing to the fully latched position. The connector seems to fully seat, and everything works, but the bail doesn’t swing to fully latched position.  It swings almost there but stops and I am afraid to push it any harder.    Does anyone have any advice on cleaning or lubrication or anything else I should be doing?  i know how to properly operate the connector. During the time the tailgate and connector are off, i have a double plastic bag over the truck connector secured with rubber bands to keep it clean, but it still had some dust in it this time when I blew it out with compressed air. I didn’t want to spray it with anything other than air without doing some research. Thanks.

    • Hello @jaszr2 Do you have a link for the item? I put a replacement bumper on my truck and consequently had to relocate the shutters. I studied on them a while, and figured if you left a couple key blades, you could get most of the airflow with probably no throwing codes.
