4X4 Shifter Problems?

All day Thursday I had to use 4x4, when I got home I backed the truck in the garage and took it out of 4wd. Friday looked to be another 4wd day so I reach down to pull back on the lever and it wont budge at all. The whole truck is covered with nasty ice, I mean alot of it, the supports under the rear fenders are about 4 inches thick instead of that skinny little rod and my rear bumper is full, plus its hanging off the bottom everywhere. I am guessing something in the 4wd mechanism was frozen because I was finally able to put it in 4wd after about 10 miles of driving. Anyone else had this problem?

thats why you get the push button (thats for kansas kid haha   )

 

I have heard from a few people about this problem.  Ice is nasty

It probably just froze up your shifter. Once you were rolling and had a little heat, it shifted okay.
