Looking for new shocks

So funny that I've been looking for new shocks.

Rears are the OEM on my 01, and replaced the fronts with Explorer Pro Comps back in 2005 after a torsion bar twist. Figured it was time for new shocks!

Thanks to you guys I have all my questions answered and I'm awaiting a full set of 4600s from shockwarehouse!

I would only use the 5100's on the front if you need a little leveling, then use 4600's on the back.

I would go Kyb. I have monomaxes on one truck and 5100's on my other. I could replace the 5100's with a 2x4 and get the same ride quality. 4600's beyond being painted yellow are pretty much the same shock as the 5100 ride wise

I ended up going with the 4600's. Love em. My old shocks (bought the truck off a single owner), OEM...104k miles on em...I kid you not, I had my wife push down on em with one finger and they went right down and didntt come back up...

I think I'm going to have to go with some 4600. I have a 90lb grill guard on the front and am thinking about a winch too. 92K on my stockers with a 2in RC.

Shocks are always being talked about, but what about the springs? Do they also wear out in similar fashion to a shock?

As in leaf springs? Because chevys run tortion bars on 4x4s and springs on 4x2s. Springs are all metal so they wear MUCH slower.
