might upgrade 09 Sierra for a new 2013...any advice?

Ah, really I don't know. You an probably get some good deals from now to end of year on '13s. Maybe someone here has done that and can let you know. But, keep us posted.

Get the 6.2L.

 

No really, they are hard to find in the 2013's- Everybody & their dog wants one!! LOL!!

 

I say if you can get one with leather seats at -$10K off window sticker, you would be a fool not too..... Just my 2cents.

 

Leather covers can be found on the GMC SLE's & the Silverado LT's too, you just have to look for them.

 

(I drive a 5.3L 4x2 2012 GMC Crew & LOVE it!!)

im getting the itch to upgrade my 2011 sierra with a 4.8 4 speed. i want an HD so bad... bu with all the money i have into my lil 4.8 its hard...

i agree with the above posts if you're going to upgrade, upgrade to the 6.2

I hate my 5.3 4 speed truck.
I wish I had the 6.2 with the 6 speed in a SLT or LTZ model, it doesn't matter. I want it be CC too

I will never go back to anything other than my 6.2l 6 speed, Its a night and day difference. I say Try to find a 13 6.2l, you wont regret it!

I did that^^^^^^^exact thing, traded my 09 with 5.3 4spd 3.73s for a 13 with 6spd 3.42s, and I don't regret it!

What is your goal in buying a new one? Sounds like your truck is just broken in.

I vote the 6.2 also. I bought my 12 SLT NHT loaded, $44k sticker for under $34k out the door. Deals are same or better now on the '13's. I don't think you can get an equally equipped 5.3 for much cheaper. Once you have the 6.2 you'll never look back.

I think you can get a better deal on a '13 over the new '14. I went from my 08 Sierra to my '12 Silverado, and that 6 speed makes a big difference. Goodl luck.

I went from an '06 5.3L, 3:42 4 speed to an '13 5.3L 3:42 6 speed......the combo with the 6 speed is tough for me to get used to....go 6.2L...gotta be a better match

I did months of research on sierras and diff engines etc.

 

I bought a 2010 sierra Denali with 6.2 it's fast, pulls trailer easy, looks awesome, interior is nice. And best of all I get around 14l/100km. I know a few ppl with the 5.3 who get 14.5-16. (Depends how u drive) but honestly go 6.2 and don't have any oil consumption issues and have a truck that's awesome. When I was looking my Denali was 3k more then a slt I wanted. And it was a ur newer. Lol tell the sales person u want this truck but only wanna pay this much per month, they knocked off 5,000 there asking price which was already low. I got my 2010 Denali fully loaded, nav and all with 70k, tonneau cover etc mint condition for $32,000 cnd (7months ago)
