Roger, I did ask if they price matched, and they said yes but By only local. I asked what is considered local and they said 50 miles. So the price match at Quantico Arms was too far away. But since I am TDY the driving distance, of the round trip to Quantico and back to Norfolk would have negated the better price vs the PX price. But after all is said and done a New S&W mp15 MOE at $975 after the 100 rebate ain't that bad.

I forgot to say it's also has a additional $100, rebate. It's a MP 15 MOE model. So overall it's $980 bucks. I was reading the reviews online and they are all basically saying its a good mid level rifle. Anybody on here actually fire, or own one?

So far here in VA I have not seen any ARs available, the ones I saw were at Myrtle Beach back in FEB. I have not seen any Colts under $1600, not a single Walmart around me carried a AR.

Thanks!

There are only a few select wal marts in VA, maybe even the whole country, that actually sell rifles. Not sure why they changed it, but I know the Wal Mart if Fredericksburg sell rifles and shotguns. Not the greatest selection, but they are priced reasonably

The M&P MOE is a good sturdy rifle. Father in law has one we removed the A2 front sight and replaced with a railed gas block. I always build rifles from the ground up - much better control on quality that way - and you get to pick what parts you want.

Wal Marts here in MS have two different Colt modles LE6920 variations. Actually different than any of the ones you see on the Colt site.

One has all plastic handuards ($1199) and one with carbine quad rail ($1599). Both are almost identical otherwise.

A friend of mine contacted me regarding which one he should purchase. Needless to say he is now in full agreeance that the best way to get the rifle you want is to upgrade it. He grabbed the $1199 model, and I put about $220 into it to upgrade it for him.

Now he has a new low-pro gas block and new tube, 12.5" quad rail, Magpul MBUS front and rear, Magpul Plus Grip, Magpul Vertical Grip (RVG), JP Enterprises 3.5lb spring set. - one good looking rifle I must say.

His Colt is the black one on the bottom of the pic. The FDE is my 5.56 build (all Spike's tactical parts).

At the base I am at, the local exchange has a Smith and Wesson AR with Magpul stuff on it for $1080. The fit and finish seemed good, and it felt nice. Anybody have any real world reviews of it? Thanks

M&P15 is good to go man.. pretty quality product.

I've got an M&P 15X and it's a great rifle. Looked at the MOE version...hated the Magpul rear sights. The standard battle sights are far superior to the plastic Magpul rear sight (imo).
