Help: How to clear Replace Remote Battery Msg in DIC?

I recently received the Replace Remote Battery message on the DIC of my 2007 Silverado. I replaced the battery last week, in fact I replaced both batteries in my key FOBs.

Both remotes work, but I still get the message on the DIC. I can't find anywhere how to clear that message or if it shoul dhave cleared on it's own. It is going on a week, so I think enough communication has occurred between the truck and the FOB since then.

Anyone have success in doing this?

Can you not go to the message and press the check mark to reset it?

There is no option in the DIC to clear this message. It shows up everytime I start the truck.

Try pressing the checkmark button when the message is displayed.

Let me clarify: I can remove the message from the DIC if I hit any of the buttons. However the next time I get in to drive the car it is displayed again at startup. I am looking for way to remove the message permanently.

I would almost suspect that the battery in the fob is still bad. If you pop them out and measure them, are they correct? What about if you use the other fob?

The batteries (fresh) in both remotes were replaced when the message first popped up

Are you saying they are fresh because you just changed them? Or are you saying they are fresh because you checked them with a meter and know they are fresh? JUst because they are new don't mean they are good or as you say fresh. I had a problem with a TV remote the other day. Installed new batteries and still didn't work. Checked new batteries with meter and found one of the batteries had reverse polarity. Now tell me how that happens in a new battery.

Thank you for your battery troubleshooting guidelines. In my 30 years of electronics experience, a simple VOM test would have ruled out a low voltage condition and I failed to execute this simple task. I guess that I should not trust the new Duracells that I purchased. The fact that the message comes up with either remote suggests that either I installed 2 batteries with suspect voltages (possible scenario) or that the process to clear the message is not understood by me or others (probable scenario).

Sorry if the above paragraph sounds condesending, but a search of the internet shows that this issue with GM Remote Low Voltage message and the inability to clear it is becoming quite common as these batteries age. I suspect more and more people will experience this. I did not go thru the learning procedure because both remotes are fully functional and others that have tried that route were not completely successful. Maybe there is a small defect in the code loop that wasn't fully exploited in integration testing or maybe it's a sign that GM wants to have their dealers earn some $$$ by using the scantool to turn it off.

I just wanted to know if anyone else here in GM-Trucks land had seen or experienced this before and if so, what was the resolution

Doesn't help your cause, but i have the same issue with an 07 Suburban 2500 that i just bought. My previous 09 Suburban had DIC access to remote programming, but the 07 does not. Hopefully someone will chime in because i'd like to get it resolved also without a trip to the dealer for such a trivial issue.
