I own a 96 ext. 1500 had motor, tranny, ac system rebuild. My battery won't last more than 4-5 days. There is a small power shortage somewhere. Maybe some of you more experience gents/ladies know of any famous/known electrical issues.... Thanks for the time and help!

Easy things first- check to make sure you do not have a lamp staying on such as underhood lamp, glovebox, etc

Do you have any aftermarket items connected to or plugged into the truck? I had a mp3 player plugged in the cigar lighter and ended up with a dead battery. I found the thing pulled a lot of current even when it appeared to be turned off.

Thanks for the welcome and responses. Well battery is good. Alternator is new "delphi" belt is new. One thing I noticed, maybe it's normal since it's a but old, when I turn the ac, headlights, power, etc. It drains a bit of juice but holds after. Turn signals makes the meter go back and forth with rhythm if signal. Evrythubg else is stock. No aftermarket. So far power has been holding for 5 weeks after alternator and belt swap. Before with duralast alt. It would only hold longest at 4-5 dayss. Well see what happens in the next weekk.

One of the problems so far was a duralst alternator. Replaced with ac delco brand so far 3 weeks in and no issues yet.
