Installed new center console

Recommended Posts

I received my LT2 center console yesterday and installed it this morning. Took about 3 hours to pull all the plastic trim, remove the seats, and put it all back together. I was taking my time and going slow because the truck is new and my big goal was not to break anything. Pics are in the linked gallery.

Looks 10x better IMHO.

If you notice those 4 tabs still left in the center section, GM makes 2 Acc'y parts that you can swap out & change around. You can add another dual cupholder there or even a cool CD tray with a coin holder.

There is also a relatively cheep GM Accy that stills on top of that deep rear center console "tower". It makes your rear console storage are a "dual level" storage system. A plastic tray, with a center grab handle, is covered in black felt & includes a CD organizer. I think you'll love it. It really makes good use of that LARGE storage bin.

Thanks you guys. Bad Bowtie2 - Thanks for the tip. I looked them up on Amazon and ordered one of each, you know, just in case.

Where were you able to find this, and is it possible to get the part number please?

I don't have a part number, sorry. I got it from a member here. Talk to Travis at Travs_Automotive (sp?) He's been dealing in these for years and has some fantastic connections and sources. He's also done some great How-Tos in the mods/upgrades forums.

Instead of part numbers, you just talk to him. Tell him your year, model, color etc. and do you want rear audio controls or not - stuff like that. He will cover all the details with you so you get just what you want. This is the 2nd truck he found me a console for and both were spot on just what I wanted. If he doesn't have it he will find it and it will be perfect, no compromises. Can't say enough good about the guy. He'll ship any where (FAST!) and when you get it you'll spend a fun hour cutting open the giant box he taped up and removing a mummy / cocoon of foam and bubble wrap all keeping your new console 100% safe. It's a fun package to receive.

He's a good guy, knows his stuff, and will find you what you want. His prices are fair and he has the boxes to send it to you all (or mostly all) assembled. He doesn't mind a thousand questions if you have them, and you will go away with a lot of new knowledge and a center console. This guy IS the man when dealing for a center console!

Thanks for the tip on where to find center consoles, I like to add on in my 2011 regular cab and don't need the rear audio control for obvious reasons and all I can find so far is the rear controls. I will have get in contact to see if he can find me a 'black' non-audio control one. I can't wait to do this mod on my truck, it will give it a whole new look and feel to the interior. Center seat in useless in my truck anyways might as well make something useful.

The center CD/DVD organizer with coin holder is PN.19154713

Adding a 2nd center dual cupholder will require PN.19154712

and the rear console inside storage tray is PN.19166288.

Can someone let me know how to contact Travis at Travs_Automotive ?

I'd like to know how to get both my inside and rear outlets working on the console I put in my 09 Crew.

It's wiring. Your truck didn't previously have them. You have to tap into one of the front outlets
