Factory De-Cladded Avalanche

Has anyone see the '03 Avalanche without body hardware sitting on a lot yet?  I saw that pricing was out (-$600),

but have yet to see a live truck.  I've only see the one red pic...anyone know what colors it will be available?  In combo with a z71 package?

I SAW ONE TODAY!!!  It was a white Z71.  It even had a different grill---the one that the Silverado's has on it.  It still has the ugly gray thing on top of the bed and back of the cab but it looks SOOOOO much better than the cladded ones.  If it had some flares on it....I think it would look even better!

The uncladded ones actually have the whole truck front clip on them -- it's not just the grille.  The headlights are above the turn signals (it's the opposite on a "standard" Avalanche) and the air dam area below the bumper is different.

Well that is what I meant!  The bumpers are chrome on them too.  Now if they'd just get rid of that ugly gray thing on the bed and back of the cab.

I spied a black uncladded Avalanche on the dealers lot today. I think they look a lot better without the plastic. The rear fender wells are rounded and the front bumper looks more like a Silverado with the chrome strip. The sticker said $37,something. Sorry I didnt get to take a really good look but if you're really interested I'll get a picture tomorrow when I go back to get my truck.

Looking close at the avy tail lights I think I could graft those on my truck pretty easy.  Gonna have to call the body shop afterwhile

Some will disagree with me but here goes

I think it looks much better with the cladding. I seen an arrival blue Z71 avalanche with the cladding (black or real dark gray cladding not light gray) and it looked great.  I like the arrival blue av with the cladding better than than the 03 1500s.  My gf thinks i am nuts (probably am but who cares)  :smash:  :smash:

The avalanches look cool and all but I just can't help but think, Why not just by a 1500HD with 4 doors?  Then at least you have the fully functional truck bed.  I realize that the avalanche has a smaller Wheel base, but it's still does just as crapy as far as MPG goes........

So why not buy a truck?  What makes the avalanche better?   :smash:

I saw the pewter color non-hardware truck on a GM parking lot.  The pewter hides the gray clading on top quite well.  I'll bet the dark gray color lets the upper clading blend right in.
