Will new shocks give me a better ride?

I have the stock shocks on my truck right now and I was wondering if switching them out for something better would give me a smoother ride? My truck rides a little rough now, but no big deal.

Would like to get some opinions on different shocks. I heard that Bilsteins are good.

Any advice? :D

Bilsteins will stiffen it up.  I thought the stock shocks were to soft.  The bilsteins make it feel like a truck

If you want something smooth you may want to look into the edelbrock IAS

are you sure you dont have bilstiens on it from the factory? gm puts bilstien shocks on thier trucks from the factory.

and whatever brand you get, just make sure thier a monotube design, cause they are far superior in drability and performane than a twin tube design

MN gm only put bilsteins on the pre 99 Z71 (old body style) trucks.  The newer body style gets tenneco shocks (red ones)

Thanks for the info guys. I might look in to bilsteins for the summertime when I spend a lot of time pulling the boat. Might need to adjust my tire pressure a little.

I've got Rancho Adjustable shocks - I can make them soft or firm, and inbetween.  They fade over years of time, but so far, so good!  I'll upgrade to Bilstein's once these die.. but unless you're going off jumps, twin tube designs should be fine.
