driver door speaker problems

I have a 2007 NBS HD2500 with stock stereo. The system worked fine until the Spring of this year (13) then the driver door speaker went intermittent in Aug it went out completely, Labor day weekend I replaced it with a GM part. Two weeks later that speaker went out - no intermittent - just nothing.

The dealer I bought the speaker from is clear across the city from me (he was the only dealer who had one when I needed it) will take the speaker back under warranty - however he want to see the truck and speaker at the same time. This means tearing apart the door, removing the speaker, putting the door back together, driving cross town, exchanging the speaker - letting him get the info off the truck he needs - then tearing the door apart and replacing the speaker. If that one goes out then they will want to see the truck to see what is causing the problem.

Last Saturday I stopped in at my local dealer - they could not find any TSBs about the driver door speaker - they would not work with the other dealer to help with the speaker exchange. Their feeling is that it is a bad second speaker and that I should simply replace it again before going further. They also want $100.00 to troubleshoot the problem - not to mention its repair. The speakers run around $40.00 and they say there no way of troubleshooting without tearing into the door.

Any ideas- suggestions - opinions from the forum would be much appreciated.

I have a 2006 and had issues with my driver door speaker. Ended up being a bad connection at the speaker. I bent the pieces in the female side so they had better contact with the speaker side and haven't had any problems since.
