I am leary of doing the deal until I see the truck, if it comes in with any imperfections I will turn it down. I wont own a brand new truck that needs paint work right out of the gate. I can deal with minor warranty work, but any paint blemishes and deal is off.

GM Customer Care I messaged you, if you can get the rail yard to pull the truck my dealer can pick it up, or if they can just get it delivered to the dealership then the dealers can complete the trade and get my deal done. I was promised tomorrow, but then told yesterday it might be this week. This is getting stupid that I am going to lose rebate money because a transport company wont deliver the truck after attempts to get them to help out.

Well talk about the work LIVID right now, that is me.

I called my dealer on Saturday about the truck. Other dealer said the truck did not show up but they expected it Saturday night or on Sunday and would have it ready this morning.

So my sales guy calls me this morning at 9am and said the truck is at the other dealer, waiting on them to find it get keys make sure it has been PDI'd and they would drive over and get it. Then I get a call at 10:30, bad news. Other dealer sold the truck Saturday morning. They have two managers that handle dealer trades, our guy was on vacation other manager didn't know there was a deal in place even though they already had my dealers trade vehicle on their lot. So the other manager sold my truck to a customer Saturday.

LIVID....!!!!!!

Then my dealer tries to push my into a 2014 Sierra SLT White Diamond tri-coat Z-71 with a 6.2 that they have. Their truck is more expensive, they will sell it to me at the same price and it will be a nicer truck. Blah, blah, blah.....

I held my ground, told them I wanted my truck, All Terrain with the 6.2 otherwise I was going to another dealer and then I would use social media to put both dealers on blast. They call me back and tell me the trading dealer had one other AT/6.2 that just came in loaded the same except in white. Not my first choice in color, but after doing my own research today there are no 6.2's in the 5 state area right now and production is on hold on the 6.2 right now as well.

So the trading dealer said they would pull truck from transport and PDI and have ready tomorrow, I told them nope. Get the truck today, tell them what you have to but the deal gets done today.

Just got the call, my dealer is going to go and pick the truck up today and do the deal today.

Still pretty livid about how the other dealer did us, bunch a crap if you tell me.

I'd have them paint it the color you want if the interior would still match.

Worst advice ever.

why? I am no expert on painting vehicles but I would tell them to dissemble the entire truck and paint every nook and cranny. I should add I would only do this on a lease, not a purchase. for obvious reasons. If this wouldn't work and look 100% like new I stand corrected.

Time and labor to do such a thing by a team of local guys would be ridiculous including sanding back/prep/etc.

it just would never happen. Not to mention some local dealership guys could not strip down a truck to the frame how GM paints them.

I was actually suggesting they sent it back to the factory, but your points are well taken. I just know I'd be rippin' too.

Hi TJay74,

So sorry to hear that your original deal fell through. We completely understand your disappointment with this situation and hope that everything has worked out with your new truck. Please let us know when you get the new All Terrain 6.2 and how your experience goes this time around. We look forward to an update!

Well it has been a long day, but I have in my possession a 2014 Sierra Crew Cab All Terrain with the 6.2 motor.

My dealer bent over backwards to get the deal done and to get the truck to their dealership. I drove my car up there, they loved the Vette and we got the paperwork going. Then their driver went with me and met my wife with our truck, we signed the titles and handed the keys over and on our way with the new truck. Our 3 car garage looks huge now with only 2 vehicles in it, time to get the man cave all setup for next spring.

Now the only bad things. New truck did not have the slider back window like it was supposed to have, I also do not have the correct not step painted rear bumper like the AT package comes with. Truck came with the corner step bumper painted to match, I can live with that for now.

Truck has the chrome exhaust tip from the factory, doesn't fit my truck. Not even close, it is at least 1/2" to 3/4" larger than my exhaust pipe and wont fit. $160 option thrown out the window, so I am having my dealer make some calls to find out of GM has the correct tip otherwise I am, going to request a $160 check from GM.

Also the floor mats are not the correct ones either, my previous AT had the embroidered floor mats, these are just plain jane floor mats. I am going to look into that as well.

So far for only having 100 miles on it, rides pretty good even with the rougher AT suspension in place. So far DIC is showing almost 19mpg on the highway, but the truck did not go into V4 mode until it was over 100 miles. I know the ECM has not been updated with the newest calibration so I will take it over to the dealer to have them flash the new calibration that is out and see of it will get into V4 mode.

next up tomorrow is to get the GY tires swapped out for the Nitto Terra Grapplers, then tint the front widows this weekend and once the weather clears up clean the outside and clay bar the paint then get a coat of wax on it asap. Got lucky, my tonneau cover from the 2010 fit right onto this one so that saved me some money as well.

TJay,

Did you do business with Furgeson GMC? My 2011 Denali was a Dealer trade from that dealership. Even though I am in North Texas, they were more than happy to trade.

As for the exhaust tip, I don't think any of 6.2 owners received the correct one. I need to follow up with my dealer in the am.

Glad to hear you are somewhat happy.

Willc11,

I went to Feguson as they are down the street from me. They wanted to low ball us too bad on my trades, every other dealer in the area was well ahead of what they offered me on trades and we got nothing but excuses as to why they were so low on the trades. Dealer I dealt with came to me via a friend of a friend and worked a lot harder than Ferguson did for the sale.

Ferguson didn't want to order a truck for me and was more interested in putting me into a truck I specifically said I did not want during the entire process, then told me the 6.2's had not been made yet nor would I find one on the lots which I have now disproved as well.

So I doubt I ever try to buy from them again in the future, but funny thing is they will be stuck working on the truck for me. I need to get the truck by there and have them apply the newest ECM updates once I get some more miles on the truck.

You're right! My 6.2 also came with the chrome extension way too big for the system. The dealership tried everyhing they had in stock after the original one would not work. I didn't get too excited about it as I modifed my exhaust the next day and ran the pipes straight out the back with 22" of 4" diameter chorme on the ends. For the record, my delivery was on Nov.7, so I guess they still don't have the exhaust extensions fitted properly.
