P/S Issue

I have a 2008 GMC Sierra 2500HD 6.0.... Very stiff power steering at idle. If I take my foot off the brake it gets a little better but not much. It gets worse as the truck heats up. I've seen a pile of posts online from guys having the same issue, but have not actually seen anyone resolve. The TBS was no help, this is not normal, should not have to use both hands to turn the steering wheel.

 

I have flushed the system. No help. I have also replaced the power steering pump, and no change.

 

Anybody have any ideas, Im up for trying them, thanks!

Do you have oversized tires or a lift?

No on either of those.

Other than to take it to someone to diagnose first hand, I don't know what to tell you. You are loseing assist or something is binding it would seem.The boxes aren't known for being very robust.

well the only other thing to change is the gear box ,,,,you can take it to have p/S gauges put on it to diagnose it ,,,but in the end ,it could be the box unless the hydro boost is taking away the p/s (if equiped)

 

take it in for diagnoses ,,boxes arnt cheap ,let us know please
