2011 tahoe/yukon fuel range on full tank

I have a 2011 yukon 4x4 with the 3.08 rear end. On a full tank of fuel, my range shows up to be about 360 miles.

 

This weekend I rented a 2013 tahoe 2x4, not sure on which axle ratio. But the range on full was 450 miles.

 

What are your ranges and why would I see such a disparity?

Range is based on the average MPG display in the DIC I believe. Reset your average MPG and range will probably change too.

Range is dependent on how you have been driving. If you recently were on the highway, the range will show high. If you have done a lot of city driving it will be low. The range also includes the reserve so I very rarely get anywhere near what it says. My usual is 350 miles to a tank in normal driving and 450 to a tank on a trip.

I think my `13 Avalanche has a 31 gallon tank. I have the 6-speed auto tranny and 3.42 gears. It is 4wd. If I am doing a lot of non-stop driving between 55-65 MPH the computer says I will get approx. 600 miles per tank. If I am in town with short trips it is under 350 miles per tank.
