2014 Silverado 2WT remote start

I have a question. I bought 1 2014 Silverado 2WT about a month ago. Today I took it to the dealer to have a REMOTE START installed. After almost 6 hours they couldn't do it. They said I would have to come back once they figured out the codes with GM. Do you know of anyone else that has encountered this with a 2014 2WT? Very frustrating.

Got it installed at the GM dealer. Apparently the laptop they used didn't have the latest and greatest software, which was the root of the issue. Works great and they didn't have to cut any wires, just a little programming.

i have a 2013 2500 wt and asked the dealer about getting it installed they said they couldnt do it had the wrong computer in it does it sound right? a gm dealer on ebay was selling the remote start and i asked about it. had to send my vin # and he also said no good. would rather have a factory remote start but going down this weekend to schedule it at a shop

The way I understand it is that certain vehicles just can't take the factory remote. It is based on the vehicle codes. I was thinking about after factory if they couldn't do a factory install.

Look into dei dball and ibd t harness. Alows you to use factory fob by oressing lock 3x the set up will run about 80 depwnding on who you get it from. You do have to have the dball programed to the correct firm ware for your truck. You plug into your obd harness and attach small pigtail to the dball and insert key in ignition and turn on. Module learnsself ti truck done.
