Anyone ship their truck?

So I got my truck but it's a bit away...i'm looking into having

it shipped my way.

 

Have any of you ever shipped a car/truck and if so, what's your experience with this? any tips are welcomed :-)

How far is a bit away? I do auto transport, do not really do residential anymore. Only reason I am asking is if it is really not that far, it can be spendy for a relative few miles. As well, avoid the uscam(Uship) site. That site is loaded with brokers(who do not own a single transport truck, but will swear their truck is in route) & weekend warriors lacking proper insurance.

 

So unless the distance is in excess of 500 miles or you personally know a transporter, pick it up in person.

It's 1,200 miles away...I checked the uship web site, but it's nothing more than a directory with brokers sub-contracting drivers to pick up and move stuff.

 

What do you think is the best way to find a solid company that can do the job?
