2004 cargo lamp question

I am toying with the idea of an LED Aux light bar that is switch activated. I do not want a switch that sticks out so I thought about tapping into the switched hot from the cargo light switch. My question is does this switched hot (have not tested wires yet) run through the BCM before activating the light? Basically wondering if I could tap into it behind the switch or would I have to go it up at the actual cargo light and tap there if it actually runs through the BCM?
