Exhaust advice

Hey all, looking for some advice. I'm getting my exhaust done as a Christmas present.. I just can't make my mind up!

 

I've got an 06 Silverado Z71. I'm wanting true duals. Would an X-Pipe help at all with my application? Im also looking to run glasspacks as well..

 

I wanted to run flowmaster super 10's at first, but I'm not sure if they are loud enough for me.. I don't want to run straight pipes so I figured glasspacks would be a happy medium.

I put headers on with duals into x pipe out to two cherry bomb extreme mufflers dumped before the rear axle.

True duals won't give you anything. IMO run a 14" Magnaflow with dual out if you want dual exhaust. Or just put the aftermarket muffler of your choosing in the factory location.

I've already got an MBRP dual exhaust kit on it. Just don't like the whole single in dual out thing. Its too quiet for me, and I want to get my tips relocated too.

 

Would an x-pipe help with true duals though?

Most of how loud it is dependent on the muffler. With a flowmaster it'll be a lot louder. But if you do run duals it will be best with the x pipe.

got true duals on mine no X pipe or anything just straight pipe after the cats... It sounds good, really good alot of people have complimented me on it. But if your wanting the super 10, it will be plenty loud!

Ya, Im also probably going to go with glasspack becauses its a tad bit lighter on the wallet.

No muffler is the cheapest way and if its to loud you can always have the muffler added latter down the road

I already know straights will be too loud for me. All my buddies got em. Cant do it lol.

Check out the cherry bomb extreme, i had that before straights and it sounded dam good!! It's a really small muffler

Alot of people liked this set up as well on my truck, it had a real good tone and sounded good when cruising

Indeed, cats are still on my truck. Should probably cut them off they got 221K miles on em haha. That was a single in dual out muffler at the time to.
