My 95 TBI 350 idles at the same pace as my uncles Harley does and I'm curious does it have something to do with my o2 sensor not even being there (like I can't even find the damn wire) or is it just that I need a tune up

I know what I'm talking about with this and just need someone elses thought cause everyone says something different

Could be anything. Low fuel pressure/bad pump/regulator, air leak thru intake manifold or busted hose, leaky injectors, mechanical failure (busted valve spring, etc..), super-rich condition from lack of o2 sensor, bad idle air control ....

Internet diagnostics are funny like that ...

I think you need to stop making changes and throwing parts at it. You have two threads going here on the same truck/engine, on what could be the same or at least connected issues. I am going to post in the head gasket thread since it was the initial posting. You may want to ask moderators to either close or merge the two threads.

I'd recommend '72 model year and back. Repairs can be made with a flat screwdriver and an adjustable wrench - the way things SHOULD be.

My service engine soon light doesn't come on until I'm going down the road and even then it doesn't always turn on so unfortunately I have to go on a limb and try random things that could help and find some way to get the idle to be normal

Are you asking if there is something happening that is causing your truck to idle at the same rpm as your fathers bike? There is no connection between the two vehicles. You will find hundreds of vehicles that idle at the same speed your truck idles at.

I really hope that you are not asking that question.

Once the light comes on, you can get the code with a scan tool. If you don't have a scan tool, grab one of those bluetooth ODBII interfaces, plug it into the service port, and use some android software on your smartphone, connect it using bluetooth to the adaptor, and read codes on yolur phone. Bluetooth devicd costs something like $30 I think.
