Check engine light

Ok Sunday my light poped on. Called on star. They said it was emissions related and if it does not go off after 7 starts to have the dealer look at it. Well Tuesday I took it in to the dealer for a oil change and to have the light looked at. They said they reset it but it comes right back. I am out off the 3 year/36000 mile so I would possibly cost me $95 to get it diagnosed. Unless it gets covered under the Pederson warranty.

1st would the light cause my remote start to stop working?

2ed what's envision control related that isn't under the po wertrain warranty?

Btw the truck is a 2011 ccsb with 5.3 and 41,000 miles

Yes, the remote start is inoperative when you have a CEL per the owners manual.

As for warranty, almost nothing emissions related is covered under power train warranty. However, some states have longer warranties on emissions components. Check your owners documentation.

You can get it scanned at your local autozone for free and respond back with the code...
