Is it possible to add one to a 99 Silverado?  Not an electric one, just the "pop up" kind?  how much would it cost installed and where would be a good place to buy it?  I was thinking ZBart?

I would think that as long as you don't have the extended overhead console, a sunroof could easily be installed.

 

Most places that sell aftermarket equipment can install the sunroof for you.  I think ZeBart does it also.

For those of u who watch "Trucks!" on TNN (The National Network) airing on Saturdays & Sundays, u may recall a show from last year.  Stacey, the show host put an electric sunroof unit in a 99 Sierra.  He called it project "Hi Sierra".  It was pretty informative, but it was a do-it-yourself type of project.  I just checked his website & the show website and couldn't find anything on it.  I do have it on tape, and I could review it for you, just let me know.

 

If I can recommend anything to u, whether u do it yourself, or have it done professionally, make sure you know what you're doing.  Have the place show u some of their previous jobs.  Ask a lot of questions.  It's not as easy as it looks.  Believe me.  I've seen plenty of these type mods "butchered".  

 

Nothing will bum u out more than having a screwed up hole in the roof of your $30,000 truck.

I have the power one touch open, one touch close sunroof in my truck.  They modifed the overhead console and all that.

If you have it professionally installed, make sure that the installer reinforces the roof when they put the sunroof in.  I had a one-touch electric sunroof installed in my '00 Silverado.  It was great.  The oem headliner had to be replaced since it didn't match up with the sunroof.  I wasn't too crazy about the headliner they put in but since I rarely looked up at it, I lived with it.  If you didn't touch it, you wouldn't have known that it was a replacement.
