continuously variable valve timing

Recommended Posts

In short, camshaft selection and camshaft timing is always a compromise. It's why a race car doesn't idle well, but has the most hp it can make for that engine configuration at say 6Krpm. Need it to idle well? Then it won't make the most hp at 6K rpm. Variable valve timing is just that, but it is not perfect, it just helps.
