04 Denali, front driver side speaker not working

Hi all,

 

Long time lurker, first time poster here. I have a 2004 Denali and I noticed recently that the door chime stopped working. I didn't really mind that the annoying chime was gone but the OCD part of me had to figure out why. I quickly learned that it was due to my front driver side speaker not working. Now that I do mind.

 

Few questions: before I just replace it, what should I check? Is there some sort of Bose module for the speaker that can be tested? Can I test the speaker itself?

 

Lastly, any good resources (pictures) of how to get to the speaker? I've never pulled the door panel.

Thanks, that helps me figure out how to get to the speaker.

 

But has anyone else had this problem? It just seems weird that the speaker doesn't work at all, out of the blue..

 

There has to be something I can check/test before I just go and replace it...?

hook a battery up to it pos neg see if it pops a 9 volt works good but regardless it probably needs a speaker have put dozens in had a truck the other day all door speakers were junk
