This is my project for the next how many years. Not worried about if it's worth putting the money into or not. I just want it to rip! :driving:

No matter what the project, it's always worth the time and money as long as it makes you happy, go for it!

How about it. I was thinking this morning that a 6.0 would work better in this truck than a 5.3

Why not the aluminum 5.7 LS1. You can find LQ4s easily

I was just thinking about going with the Vortec motor because of how their for a truck to start with. I was reading about the LS1 swap, and they were saying it gets expensive fast compared to using other motors. Still haven't ruled it out though. Full of ideas right now.

17's up front, 18's in the rear. If you were to 5.3, better make it a damn TT!!!

Any LS including the Vortec series can get expensive fast. Thats why I havent taken the next step with minw

So, I did some research last night on gearing. The truck has the RPO code "GU4" which is a 3.08 gear. Definitely going to a 3.73 when I put a locker in. Only problem I see having is recalibrating the speedometer. Since it's such an old setup, the original way to recalibrate it is about extinct.
