Loose fuel tank?

So this is my first Chevy and I am frustrated with the number of times its been to the dealer already. I purchased it the day after Xmas and have 3500 miles on it. Umong other things the gas tank feels like its loose and the gas sloshes back and forth. In fact at times when the tank is about 3/4 full it actually clunks when coming to a stop. The dealer says its normal for an unbaffled tank? I get that the fuel moves but to the point it you can hear it clunk and move from inside and out?

Any info would be great!

Thanks

Do these trucks come with a un-baffled tank? That would be odd for any vehicle made of late to have an un-baffled tank.

Hello!

I've been suffering with the same issue. It gets to me and it's so frustrating. Sometimes I hear into the cabin. I've sent my truck and complained many times.

I just received my truck. It's a 2015. Less and 3k miles.

They have showed me a document saying that fuel bump/knock is normal and no modifications must be made to the tank.

Yes their tank is unbaffled.

Noise and knock much lower when tank is below half.

The dealer has installed isolation around the fuel tank, they covered it under warranty.

The noise knock has reduced a lot. Possibly 50% lower.

I still just don't understand how fuel knock bang and sloshing is normal for a truck of this generation .

If you google the Camaro forums on a different site you will see this is a major complaint. I just traded in a Camaro for the new 'Rado. Heard the same 'ole sloshing/knocking sound once or twice whilst the tank was about 7/8 full, sounded just like home cause I got used to it with the Camaro. Just let it go man, 1'st world problem :chill: . Seriously though the noise was 10x worse with my old 2013 Camaro and did disturb me as well quite a bit at first, give it some time and I'll bet you won't even notice it after awhile. Mitch

Another "improvement" by GM to save a few dollars per truck. This company must have an entire army of people whose only job in life is to find ways to cut the production costs. And they are rewarded accordingly. I wish they put so much effort into improving quality instead.

Rule of thumb in automotive manufacturing cost saving - if you could save a dime in each unit, you'd sell your grandmother.

I'm pretty sure putting baffles in a fuel tank cost way more than a dime ...
