How do I add favorites?

This manual must be the worst written manual ever. Can someone help.

 

This is in a 2014 LTZ without navigation.

 

Page 7-8 though 7-11 talkes about the radio and specifically on page 7-10 it says press and hold a Favorites/softKey button on the Faceplate. Well there is no SoftKey that is shown on page 7-3 on my radio.

 

on Page 7-10 it says broadest favorites can be stored. The to display the favorite page, press the < or > on the radio faceplate.

 

Well nothing happens

 

It looks like there is only one page as one of the little three dots lights up and I can't get t he other dots to light. I need help.
