Anyone with Q-Logic Kick Panels in an 07-13?

Anybody have the Q-Logic kick panels in an 07-13 Sierra/Silverado CrewCab? I have an extra set of components lying around and am thinking about putting them into the kick panel and unhooking the rears in my crew cab. Are they worth the $170 or so on ebay they cost when it comes to sound? I have seen where it is recommended to sound deaden them because it increases quality. Any thoughts? Also do I need to match components in the front with the kick panel or can I mismatch them? I will be using a 5 channel to power both sets. Thanks

The fit, finish and color is OK on them. However, the plastic is thinner than the original trim so you will need to dampen it, especially if you plan to play music through the speakers in them.

 

I have a 6.5 speaker in mine but I am not playing music through it. Mine is solely for the chimes, reverse beeps, OnStar and Bluetooth voices.

 

This is what it looks like installed. The kick panel color matches the under dash color. Thats why its looks different from the door panel and sill in the pictures.

Nomad, thanks for the pics. I went ahead and found some on eBay. Also have some knuKoncecpt sound deadener on order too. Looking forward to adding them and I will be playing music them. We'll see how they do, but they have to be better than sating two channels on my rears!

Sound deadener is a good idea...but serious sound guys add a mdf ring to the back side of the pod to reinforce it and give it some structural integrity along with the deadener.....that is my plan.

Thanks for the idea. Currently working on getting them ready to install in-between work and everything else! Definitely something to consider and add some rigidity. May need to make a trip to get some mdf. Can use the rest to build a new sub box!

Got the panels in yesterday. Really like the additional sound in the front. Did polyfill and deadener. Hardest part was cutting holes because I did not have anything good to cut with, but my off brand Dremel worked out ok. I did not use the screws yet and instead added some double sided tape. Seem to sit fine without them once I got everything back together. If needed, I can screw into metal later.

Thanks, they are cheap MB Quarts I had from upgrading to Alpines. Sound ok in conjunction with my Type-S in the door/pillar but could be a lot better. Probably will try to replace kick panels with Type-S as well or maybe work on a better amp. Now that I have started upgrading my audio, I am never satisfied!
