I'm looking to test drive some Sierras too, maybe this weekend. Is the vibration/shake at highway speeds only? With or without your foot on the gas?

I had an 04 and then an 09 F150, both first model years and no real problems.

i love my truck but compared to something like a cadillac or yukon it is missing a few things. it is one of the best trucks you can buy, but GM really missed on a few points like mylink vs ford sync, the sunglasses holder, and contentions.

go look at a fully loaded 2015 yukon and compare it to the 2014 sierra. they learned a lot. but its still better than a ford or ram just for the build quality. the 2015 will be out quickly, you might as well wait on it.

I've had my '14 almost a month and I have zero regrets. I was also skeptical at first but I did a lot of shopping around and researching and before I pulled the trigger I was sure I was getting the most bang for my buck and I was getting the truck I wanted. This was the first vehicle I have ever bought and had to take a payment out on so that may take some getting used to but besides that everything has went as expected.

I had an 04 and then an 09 F150, both first model years and no real problems.

Highway speeds on smooth roads.

It is harder to notice on rougher roads because you might think it is the road.

You get on a smooth stretch of road that you should be able to lay back relax and cruise and the steering wheel will have vibration.

Gas doesn't matter.

Ok, just got back from the Dealership, and wanted to fill y'all in on my experience!

I thank you all for your replies, each and everyone was helpful in my contemplation calculus!

Well, took a new one out for a test drive, and enjoyed it (the base model, which is really all I "need").

If you're old enough to remember, the ride really reminds me of

those old '70's boat cars! It is a really, REALLY, soft, lumbering ride. We did take a lengthy test drive, and I got it up to

close to 80 on the highway, I noticed no vibrations whatsoever. The roads here are pretty smooth as we don't really have

snow (I'm in Atlanta), so the one thing I didn't do, is take it over "rough" terrain. I took it through all the gears several times,

I swear one of those times it seemed to me the rpm's took a bit longer to drop, but that could have been just me because I was

really playing with the gas pedal, so I won't hold that against it. Speaking of gas pedal, that was extremely soft as well, but I may

be biased, as I've been driving a relatively "high strung" sports-car type gas pedal.

On the test drive, I did notice the mileage on it was a bit over 600, and I thought, oh good, let me see if there's an average MPG

display, and there was. 17.8; so it appears the EPA city estimate is just about on the money.

Aside from the drive, the 2nd most important thing to me is the interior. I thought the seat was pretty comfortable, but the adjustment

levers, wow, talk about flimsy plastic. If you're going to be messing with those a lot, I'd don't know, I'd be really careful with those.... Although I was pleasantly surprised it had bluetooth, I thought that little screen was a bit of a rip off. LCD screens are dirt cheap these days, like

they couldn't have filled up that area with a bigger screen? I can't imagine that was THAT much of a cost saver...

I really tried to work the driver's seat, pushed up and down on it, no noises or anything unusual. I did, however, like the way the

rear seats fold without having to pull some sort of lever.

In the end, I liked it, but it really didn't scream, "HAD TO HAVE". Between that, and my apprehension given all the recalls and problems

at GM, I set a a reasonably aggressive price point the dealership had to meet, which they, not surprisingly, did not. At least, this was the

first round, it was close to closing time anyway, so I wouldn't be surprised if a got a call tomorrow trying to close the gap. If not, that's fine

too.

I think what I'll do next is visit a much bigger dealer, as my experience has been bigger dealerships tend to have more tolerance on pricing.

So, hopefully folks can make use of this post in some way; I'll be happy to answer any questions/provide perspectives on my brief time

with the thing!

So, in the end, I would have definitely taken the risk on it, but only if the price was right...
