fuel filter line repair

Going to do fuel pump an filter an the filter bolts are rusted tight an the line will probably twist so I plan on running new lines. Can't find a kit but how far from front of filter to engine will need to be replaced? Is there a spot between filter an motor to replace or will I need to run a whole new line? 1999 gmc sierra 2500 4x4

Why not just get the right tools and technique and experience to undo the lines ??

 

You could get under the truck with a light and follow the line to answer the question if you are hell bent on doing more work than needed

They will come apart Larry , just try first .... Hold the filter fitting with a wrench,,and get a line wrench for the line nut, soak the fitting with whatever you guys use down there and wait abit , steady increasing pressure till it breaks free, I mean brakes free lol,,,, use metric tools

Soak it with PB Blaster or Kroil

Ok. Lines are pretty rusty though. But ill try that first.

If you are going to keep the truck and the lines are rusted, you should do from front to back and be done with it. Takes time but worth it in the end. Good luck.

Lines only rusty by the filter bolts or I would just redo them. My buddy had it up on the lift an still couldn't get them free.
