I have a 2000 Sierra with no lift kit. I have a set of 17in rims and am looking to get a large aggressive tire. Anybody have any idea how big I can go without rubbing or needing a lift?

Shouldbe able to 285/75r16 with minor trimming and adjusting torsion bars . Not sure what size that equates to in a 17.

A 285/75R16 tire is around 32.8" tall, to get a similar size in 17" wheels you will need to go to a 285/70R17 which is around 32.7" tall. Then of course you speedometer will have to be recalled depending on different that size is from your stock size tire.

Stock rim is 17in but I currently have a set of 20in on, the front tires rub a little bit but only on the plastic coverings and I have to be easy in turns and on bumps. Been looking at the 285/70r17 and wanted a little guidance from real truck owners. I appreciate everyone's input.
