Thinking about changing tires on 1500 all terrain. have 275/55/20 stock.

terra grappler or trail grappler

what sizes fit with no issues on stock ride hight no lift

I would go with the trail grappler 285/55R20, its by far the best looking tire out there and it will fit an all stock truck. Keep in mind the trail grappler will affect your mpg, ride and quietness of the truck. I have some 285/55R20 BFG AT's and my truck is all stock.

has anyone tried any wider than 285 on all stock truck

When I first bought my truck I installed a 2" RC leveling kit with some 295/55R20 Nitto Trail Grapplers. Even with the leveling kit there was a slight rub but nothing major. You can test fit some 295's on a stock truck, but if you do serious off roading I would not do it without a leveling kit. I removed the 2" leveling kit and put the truck back to stock, traded in the trail grapplers for BFG's only because I did not like the ride of the trail grapplers and the mpg loss I took with them on.

P.S. This post will probably be moved to the wheel and tire section by the moderator.

Id say the 285/55/20 to be safe, thats what I have read.

I am getting a 2 1/2 lift put on at the dealership when I pick my new one up and it looks like they are good with putting the 275/65/20 terra grapplers on there part of this upgrade from the standard denali tires/rims. That seems to be the max I can do without it rubbing, unless anyone tells me otherwise on problems. I think 295/55/20's were around the max as well, possibly 305's from someone else i remember posting.

You should be ok with the 285's with a 2.5" lift. IMO the wider stance of the 285's will make your truck look so much better over the 275's.

I have the Terra Grapplers on mine in stock size and love them, as said I didn't need the more aggressive Trail Grapplers and didn't want the loss in gas mileage as well

I care about the height more than the width, filling out the wheel well.

Great to see that, I have bf AT's on my Tahoe right now as I have had two sets and love them just wanted to try something new that wasn't mud. So that's why I went terra grappler finalizing with my dealer. A side of my wants to call and change to the Toyo AT2 extreme's. Friend has 35's on his ford diesel and they are nice looking. Decisions.
