Rear drums blue?

Hello all, I've searched google and this forum but I can't find any answers. I noticed a while back that my '10 Sierra has blue drums. I never really paid any mind to it because my wheels covered them up and it never caught my eye. I've recently switched to a different oem wheel and they show a lot more behind the wheel and it's got me wondering. Is there a specific reason my drums are blue? I was thinking about taking them off and just painting them black with a high temp paint. Thanks!

Did you buy your truck used? If so someone probably painted them. You could sand them good, clean them up and repaint them. I use the caliper paint from duplicolor.

Yes sir bought it with 24,xxx miles and bone stock except a muffler. I don't know why anyone would paint the drum blue because it doesn't match a darn thing on the truck. And you could hardly see it behind the wheels that came on it from the factory. Heck still had the tires that came with the truck.

Haha that explains it. I painted mine silver, but only because that's what I had laying around, and it'll keep the rust off.
