Hi guys, I was just curious. Who are your Heros? It could be a Super hero or a childhood favorite like a baseball player etc.

Lets hear it guys.

I have two...Batman and Hopalong Cassidy.

Batman is cool because here you have a mortal man driven by his emotional pain to push himself to stop crime and put the bad guys away. He's a machine he will not stop. He's a very intelligent detective...none better.

Hoppy is a man's man. He's honest and loyal. He gives you his word...you can believe it. He stands by his friends and helps them as much as he can. He's fearless. Oh...and he's hansome too.

:jester: superhero I'll have to think about that one, but a person that I looked up to when I was young, Gary Carter (retired) Baseball player.  One of the nicest men that I ever met.  He didn't have the attitude :(  that a majority of the professional players have today.

Superman, i mean, c'mon faster than a speeding bullet, able to leep tall buildings in a single bound...

But, let's think about this:

He can fly,

He has super strength,

He can see through walls,

He can shoot fire from his eyes.

What's not to like.  Okay, there is that whole kryptonite thing, but still.

definitely Superman....I've loved him since I was a kid.  I still have my cape somewhere around here!  :D

also a big fan of the Punisher.  Just look at him.  A sweet shirt and a big gun....I got the shirt thing going, now if I can only get my hands on a m-16...

Well as for your fictional hero types:  Darth Vader...really, no joke, he is the greatest...an evil genius, still had a heart deep down, and was really good at dealing with stupid, worthless souls  :thumb: And I would kill to have my own legions of stormtroopers and fleets of star destroyers to send out to stragetically terminate worthless scum...

As for real life people:

Thomas Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt, Chuck Yeager, Ronnie Reagan...

And the greatest superheros of all...The men and women who put on a uniform everyday, whether it be military, police, fire, ems, and gladly put their lives on the line to protect the citizens of this country and the world. :thumb:  :D

As far as comic book heros, I was always a big fan of spiderman.  But from the way "Timmy" talks about you "Batgirl", I am starting to think that maybe you are my new "semi-fictional" hero!!! LOL!!!

I'd have to say that Dale Earnhardt was a pretty important person to me that I had never met.  I didn't realize that until the day he was killed...  :D

There have also been several very important people in our history that I would say I regard with outmost respect...

Have you seen The Punisher movie w/ Dolph Lundgren as the Punisher.  Pretty good movie, I think I got the DVD for about 5 or 10 bucks at Best Buy

Mark Martin. I've been a fan of his since I got an autograph from him when I was 4, and back then I didn't know much about NASCAR, so this was one of my first impressions of the sport.

If I had met somebody else on that day, they'd probably my hero instead of Martin.

It was a chance meeting where I was in the right place at the right time.

Now as for the TV kind of hero... I'd have to say Batman.

Hmm, Batman gets the nod I believe.  I was always a fan of blue and black, and I did have a Batmobile pedal car when I was younger.  Met Cal Ripken at a book signing here, nice guy...and I like his attitude, same as mine, you show up to work every day and do your best.  Also like Lee Iacoca, Pat Riley, Magic Johnson.

Grandma gets top billing I believe.  Her second husband(not my bio gf, but the only 1 I ever knew) was in a wheel chair due to breaking his hip.  Now Grandma was probably 5' tops and used to lift him out of bed every morning and into his wheelchair...eventually giving herself a hernia.  Her selflessness over the years was something that I can't express in words.  Probably 1 of the most touching moments was when he was in the hospital with his pancreas failing and in and out of consciousness and she said "I love you" and he whispered back in a barely audible voice, "I know"

    • 2017 Silverado L83 5.3l 6speed transmission Hello, not a new member but havent posted in a while and my old signup info isnt working so had to create a new account. anyways, I have an issue with my truck and hope someone can spread some light on whats happening: -when it goes to 4cyl mode it makes a clunk sound (but not when coasting or going downhill) -when in 4 cyl mode and under load it makes a load pulsating sound (not a tick). -goes away completely when in M5 gear or when plugging in an AFM delete. Im guessing it is one of 2 things but im not convinced of either to be honest. 1. lifter stuck in v8 mode 2. torque converter shudder realistically it doesn't seem like the TC as there is no physical vibration , and it never happens in v8 mode. but maybe? and wouldnt a lifter make a sound whether with load or not? any ideas let me know please. thank you!
    • Which has made me wonder with the various engine failures of a few brands in the last few years, is it sub par materials such as lifters etc causing failures, or bearing clearances on the crank etc or perhaps bad designing of an engine physically or causing too much load on the components due to the hp/torque they can push out of them. Or is the oil viscosity and additive package of current oils or a lack of oil flow by an oil pump not able to supply sufficient oil at idle or under high load at low rpm. Or is it every item I listed that combined together has pushed the limits so far to the left that there is hardly a margin of safety left and add in some fuel dilution and too long of an OCI and premature engine failure is the result ?.
    • He is not saying that an SAE *W20 will have more viscosity than a *W40 due to MORE VII polymers. He is saying that although multiple *W40 may post in the PDS the same or similar 100 C and 150 C viscosities that the blenders choice of modifier TYPE and AMOUNT to get his chosen base to grade will not give identical real world viscosities in shear and at temperature. All will pass the SII test but not all will pass the 100 C HTHS (unpublished value) testing the blender does and relies on to get the required by law "percentage improvement' referenced to his last great work.    Tis the problem with the lie. Once told others are required to support it.
    • I have a `25, 1500 that auto sets on incline. Never knew that at first. I have the electronic shifter. Just think if it didn`t do that? Unlike a mechanical shift that you can muscle out of park, how would you get this thing out? That would be a problem.   What I found out later is, I don`t have to push the button to release. Just put it in gear.   Setting parameters? Don`t know if it`s possible.

REAR AXLE - 3.73 RATIO INC. GVWR, 11,350 LBS. (5148 KG) INC. FRONT AND REAR PARK ASSIST, INC. ULTRASONIC     I have been launching my new boat and noticed some things related to the parking brake.. I usually set the parking brake (habit) when on flat ground for typical driving.    When backed down on the launch ramp to launch the boat and I place gear selector into Park, the parking brake activates automatically. My second nature is to set parking brake manually and noticed I was turing the parking brake off.  The parking brake appears to be setting itself automatically.   I looked all over my owner's manual and only found references to being on an incline and manually setting parking brake, or at times parking brake will be auto engaged, but nothing specific to my situation.    When is the parking brake automatically engaged?  Under what specific circumstances?  Can the auto set parameters be changed?     I like the auto set feature.  It would be nice if always engaged when shifted into Park and released when shifted out of Park (like my wifes 2025 RAV4).   Thanks!
