How do you remove license plate filler in front?

Went under the truck trying to see what might bolt off or snap off but don't want to do something not necessary. Any one have an idea or instructions? I am putting my pewter alumni tag up front and want it off. Thanks!

Just a couple screws (7mm socket IIRC?), and three tabs. Once the screws are out the filler will rotate right out.

Oh yeah, you will need to get under and behind the air dam to see the screws. They will be the same distance apart as the holes in the plate. You will also see indents above the filler for top plate screws if needed or wanted. You would need to drill these out. Check with plate first for location.

According to the GMC online order form, the states that have front plates were supposed to get a license plate holder. Others were supposed to get the filler. Mine came without the plate holder or the filler. Dealer ordered the filler, and I installed it. Easy!

With that said, I have yet to see an actual license plate holder/bracket on ANY GMC. Have seen several on the Chevy's.

Has anyone seen a license plate bracket on ANY GMC? All the plates I've seen on GMC's have been mounted in the void of the filler.

If you still have the filler plate I could use it. I bought the truck from a dealer in Illinois (front plate) but reside in Indiana (no front plate) so no filler. And I have not seen a license plate bracket on any GMC yet. Alternately I could put on some goofy "Redneck" or something plate .
