I did but I don’t feel like screwing with it. I actually have two tags one from Michigan (might be expired) and one from Indiana which is close to expiring but I do have my receipt that I paid

Anyone make clear reflectors yet?

Have an appointment tomorrow for the fuel rail cover. But, I think Im going to get the stainless steel letters to put over them, I'm sure it'll happen again eventually.

Gotta say, people seem overly paranoid about letting service departments handle their Camaro, it's starting to get to me too.

At the service dept. Told them to go ahead and do the first oil change if they can get it done in time for me to get my kids (An hour 15 away.)

He did ask who was going to pay for the fuel rail cover, wonder how many camaro are already out of warranty for miles? Time for the first ones isnt up for months, people must really be driving these.

I went to dealer, said "don't do it if it will take past 10:15"

It's 10:45. Two hours for oil change, car still isnt back.

Got it 10:55. I saw the get done by 10:15 note written on the paperwork. Not sure whose fault. Guy was really nice but they did the oil change first, so that's why it sat in line forever.

Had 3 dealership people comment on it. Heard the tech blip the throttle, he didn't abuse it, it was just enough to get the valves open. Dont blame him, I do it too

Got the fuel rail cover today. Actually my wife did, and she was ticked when the car sat for 45 minutes while the advisor did paperwork. Might try a different dealer next.

Yup, I know, but like it quiet when just crusing.

Ordered some stuff. Cosmetics. (Mats and lights, reverse harness). Changed some lights already.

Figured out what I need to do to make a PnP front signal harness for LEDs, will be pretty cheap and easy, guessing $25-35, What I did to the Mazda, you add a part that can be quickly and easily removed and leaves no trace  or permanent alteration, but fits perfectly using an OEM socket, not a universal one that you need to secure or iffy seal.

Shocked no one has made one yet, people use universal or t tap. It's like $15 more to do it "right" IMO.

That's the one. I already had some from the Honda, very similar to the xp80, but they were too long so they have been in a tool chest for 2 years. That LED thing is so weird, why the heck would you have a constant draw through reverse lights. I have one in until itthe harness arrives. Pulling the taillights anyway so why not.

Also got the dealer add on floor Mats, and Lloyd trunk mat. Floor mats are the stock premium SS mats.

Deciding on sidemarkers. Probably going with DD since they are the darkest. Already put in the plate lights, and trunk light. had about 30 spares when I was buying different kinds to see what I liked the best. My dremmel is dead so I can't cut a panel to fit in the trunk just yet, not that they give us much room, probably not enough room for a panel plus wires, but just sticking the panel over the lenses would be easy.

And the lack of rear dome light is absurd. The dinky front lights are a joke too.

Need to order the parts for the PnP front signal harness I'll make, but no hurry.

The blub in the trunk floor is powering the opposite pic.

maybe I should join Camaro6, but not sure I have to see the local club again(they are on there too). The firebird thing was embarassing, especially since days before me and another 1st gen guy were talking about how the old engines were very reliable and easier to fix, when a 5th gen guy said he couldn't even consider a 1st gen because the old cars break all the time....... then the 541 went kablewy after I said that was ridiculous, I have had several, just taken care of them. Then I had to admit it depends on the moron before you not running the wrong oil, and not finding out until you have owned it for 8 months.

Yeah, maybe not my fault, but still embarrassing. so I deleted my posts( )

Nanoskin on the hood, guess it was dirtier than it looked, because I just ordered a liter of Iron X after seeing the result.

It sounds like the stuff works like magic after sitting for five minutes. Nanoskin and clay did nothing. I even used a lot of pressure(and then had to polish the spot). Them I looked up videos of Iron X on new car. Then saw all the white cars turn purple. Yikes didnt realize how common it was, I never had the issue until I bought the tahoe.

Was going to just clean the uoward facing parts, but with all the angles on these I just nanoskined everything, and will iron x everything on Wednesday provided it gets here on time. Then seal it all over again, this time with pristine paint. I thought yellow would show the dirt easily but I got more crap off than I thought I would.

It's silky smooth now....(except for the obvious)

    • I agree with Tim.  As tech heavy as engines are these days, no way I’d be an early buyer of the new 6.6.  Of course, I bought my ‘26 Denali w/the 6.2 after dumping my Tundra with it’s defective 3.5 liter imploding engine disaster, so I’m a little gun-shy.  That said, my 6.2 has been rock solid.  I don’t drive it like I do my BMW Z4 M40i, but I don’t baby it either.  I got a V8 for a reason.  But I’m averaging 18 around town and 22 highway.  I have seen 24 highway as well when I wasn’t loaded up heavy.  Considering my Tundra with the twin turbo V6 only got 14.5 in town and 17 on the road, I’ll take the 6.2 all day, every day.  If I were you, I’d grab a ‘26 while you can.  Inventories are probably gonna start dropping and I’ll bet the deals will start looking sweeter as well.
    • I am curious if anyone has figured out a way to add an hard button AUX or 360 Camera switch to the center row of switches. I have a 2021 AT4, and want to split the hill decent button and add a 360 camera button so that you don't have to go into the center display and locate the camera functionality, etc...   My father's 2024 Yukon XL AT4 and it has a hard button, see below. I found this thread on the Yukons, but it seems like there may not be a part number for the 2021 sierras. https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/255339-adding-hard-button-for-camera-on-2021/ Anyone else figured this out. Seems like it would need to be a custom switch!   I am getting ready to install the auto stop/start eliminator, so would be nice to knock them out at once.     Upvote1Downvote0Go to comments
    • Looks like the entire state is burning. 😬
    • Through the years it hasn't been my typical method as I tried to drop oil on an engine that was hot from having been worked, however that was not always practical and had to fire up a unit and let it warm up reasonably well and drop the oil when I had the time to do it but am referring to not only vehicles but a variety of farm equipment and highway tractors etc. However on a vehicle where one is crawling under it and the exhaust is nearby to ones body and if wanting to pull the plug without danger of being hit with boiling hot oil or attempting to remove a HOT oil filter, its sure safer and easier to not have everything smoking hot and can remove the filter right away when under the vehicle and let it all drain. Of course its not the end of the world if a bit of oil stays in the engine that might have eventually found its way out, I like to get out as much as possible but any oil changes that take place in shops would rarely be sitting around for very long at all before the plug is thrown back in and filter slapped on and oil poured in and sent out the door quick like. There would be very little time spent ( assuming they even did it ) in starting the engine with oil to fill the filter, then waiting to verify the level on the stick. A good reason to check ones oil level shortly after a shop changed the oil on a vehicle just to make sure its correct and to look under for any oil around the drain plug or filter.
