Retained accessory power stays on after door is opened and key out of

I thought I read something about this somewhere on this site, but I have a 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE and I recently had to replace the door lock actuators on both the passenger and driver's side doors, I also at the same time did the window regulators since I had the doors opened up.

The first sign of a problem I noticed was that the actuator replacement parts I ordered from 1AAuto.com were made with the new design with a couple of switches not attached.

I watched many YouTube videos on it where people saw the same thing - got a part that was somewhat different than the original part. I got everything buttoned back up and the locks and windows worked like new so I was absolutely thrilled that now everything worked like it was new again.

A few days later I noticed that my radio was staying on even when the door was opened and the dome light would not come on when I opened the door - no key in the ignition.

I looked here on this site and found some reference to PIT4758B Document ID:2239554 - which describes the exact problem I am having. Since my truck is a 2000 and no longer under warranty, I am desperately trying to find the documentation on this Bulletin so that I can fix it myself. The nearest dealer is over 50 miles away, and I talked to the Chevy dealer in town and they said that since I replaced both the driver's side and passenger side door lock actuators with the new design, they simply have to splice two circuits together in the driver's side door panel. And they want to charge $150 for this? I can splice wires together for much cheaper than that.

Anyone have their hands on a diagram which shows this, maybe even some wire colors, etc. ?

I'm looking for that diagram that shows the wiring change enacted by that bulletin I mentioned in my OP. Do you have that?

After a few minutes of searching I ran across this:

http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/91952-2000-silverado-power-lock-actuators/

Sounds like you need to get the correct parts to me.

Thanks. I did find them. So instead of just the door lock actuator, I will buy the whole assembly. For future reviewers of this topic. Look at what kind of options you have on your door, and refer to the following parts list:

15110641 - Door Latch Assembly, Front Left (w/power, w/o remote entry)

15110646 - Door Latch Assembly, Front Left (w/o power)

16637321 - Door Latch Assembly, Front Left (w/power, w/remote entry)

15110642 - Door Latch Assembly, Front Right (w/power, w/o remote entry)

15110647 - Door Latch Assembly, Front Right (w/o power)

16637320 - Door Latch Assembly, Front Right (w/power, w/remote entry)

It will be much easier to do it this way anyway. Although I only had to pay $35 each for the incorrect parts. For a few days, at least, there was bliss of having my door locks working again.
