Bumper Caps

I just purchased a 4x4 extended cab 2008 silverado LT. I had a question about one of the things on it that came when I bought it. As you can see, on the bed there are these caps on the side (not the one on the tailgate), and I was wondering how I would go about removing them and if it will be clean under it or if there are going to be holes from drilling in it/etc?

Are you talking the black trim on the cap? Or the chrome piece? The chrome is held in with 7 rivets, you would need to drill them out to remove the chrome. The black plastic I believe just snaps on, there is a push pin on the lower outer edge (where it wraps around towards the side of the bed) that you have to remove as well.

The rivet is 1/4 X 1-3/4", part # 11610383 at your local GM dealer.

Or...did I read the title and the content of this post wrong?

Are you talking about the caps on the bed rail? Those most likely are stick on, two sided tape unless there are screws holding it in.

I think your talking about the bed rail covers. I'd imagine that the paint would be scuffed but, I'm not sure.

Yes sir you were correct! Thanks! Wasn't that bad just two or three small scratches!

I was wrong I was talking about the bed rail, I'm sorry for the wrong title, I was confused. I tried pulling it off this morning and it came off seemed like just some tape, it's a little scratched but still looks better than without the caps.
